How to Hive: Applying to Opportunities in the #FlyHire Portal

This article provides an overview of how platform users can apply to positions within Hive using their Hive resumes.

Locating & Understanding Qualifications of Opportunities (Internships, Jobs & Events)

Sign in the HIVE Diversity app and go to the #FlyHire Portal via app.hellohive.com. After arriving to the #FlyHire Portal, click the "Positions" category at the top of the page. You can use the filters to search through opportunities or search for specific company and position names using the search option.

Click a position to learn more about it, reviewing qualifications, information about the program and other helpful content. If you're not able to click the "Apply" button, it's most likely because you have not completed the HIVE5 Process in full yet (and your HIVE resume), and/or the position is not available to you due to class standing, academic and/or sponsorship requirements.

Applying to Positions in the #FlyHire Portal

We'll use applying to HIVE's Next-Gen Consulting Program as an example. After locating the position, you must apply to the "Next-Gen Consultant Student Ambassador Program" to be eligible for consideration. In order to submit your application, you must go through the application checklist to be allowed for submission. You can easily skip through several of these, but you can also update them as well pretty quickly. You're required to select buzzwords for every application, which are at least 4 bullet points that are prioritized for the application. Before submitting your application, be sure to look over your resume to verify your information is correct. Lastly, click "Apply Now" once your application checklist is complete.

After Completing the HIVE Application Flow: External Application Link & Dashboard Update

Once you have submitted your application, follow the directions given to you exactly. Most positions also require you to take your HIVE-generated resume and apply via the company's external referral link. It's very important you use your HIVE resume so that they know you're from our community. Additionally, make sure you update the status of your application on your HIVE dashboard (video below). This helps the HIVE team send you important information throughout the journey of your application (for example, when you select you're interviewing we will often send you helpful tips on how to prepare, etc.)
